Implementation of Inspera Online Proctoring

In response to the increasing prevalence of online learning, our university is committed to identifying optimal solutions to uphold the integrity of remote assessments. Currently, we are conducting a pilot study to evaluate the potential implementation of the Inspera platform for online proctoring within our academic environment.

What is Inspera Online Proctoring?

Online proctoring refers to the utilization of technology to supervise online examinations. Inspera provides a suite of features designed to remotely monitor test-takers through webcams, microphones, and screen activity, thereby mitigating the risk of academic dishonesty.

Why Are We Conducting a Pilot Study?

As an initial step, our university has initiated a series of trials involving Inspera online proctoring across various academic units, including the Distance Learning Program in Communication Studies and the Faculty of Medicine. The primary objectives of this pilot study are to assess the platform’s effectiveness, identify potential challenges, gather stakeholder feedback, and evaluate the platform’s compatibility with the university’s existing infrastructure.

Preliminary Findings:

We are pleased to report that the majority of participating students successfully completed their examinations using the Inspera online proctoring system. While a minority of students encountered initial technical difficulties, the overall execution of the pilot examinations was deemed successful. These preliminary findings provide a positive indication of Inspera’s potential to facilitate secure and reliable online assessments.
