Peer-reviewed Assessment
with the Moodle Workshop Feature

Workshop is a powerful peer assessment activity. Students can add submissions, which are then distributed among their peers for assessment based on a grading scale specified by the teacher. Teachers set the assessment stages, provide clear guidelines, offer constructive feedback, and facilitate collaborative and in-depth learning activities.

Workshop in Moodle is a learning tool that supports peer assessment and self-assessment. This feature allows students to upload their assignments, assess their classmates’ work based on specified criteria, and receive feedback from their instructors and peers.

Key Features of Workshop

  1. Peer Assessment
Workshop enables learners to assess the work of their classmates based on predefined criteria. This helps improve critical evaluation skills and provides diverse perspectives on each task.

  2. Self-Assessment
In addition to peer assessment, students can also assess their own work, which helps them understand their strengths and weaknesses. Instructors may guide learners in self-assessment to help them recognize their strengths and areas for improvement.

  3. Flexible Grading Settings
Instructors can choose from various assessment strategies, such as cumulative, comments, number of errors, or rubric, to assess tasks. This allows flexibility in assessment according to the specific needs of the task.

  4. Automatic and Manual Allocation
Instructors can allocate tasks to be assessed by other students automatically or manually. This ensures that each task receives assessment from multiple students.

  5. Structured Feedback
Instructors can provide structured and detailed feedback on each assessment conducted by students, helping students understand areas for improvement.

  6. Full Control by Instructors
Instructors have full control over all aspects of the workshop, including setting stages, reviewing assessments provided, and adjusting grades if necessary.

  7. Customizable Assessment
After the assessment process is complete, instructors can evaluate the results of peer assessments and adjust final grades before they are displayed to students.
