We are excited to announce a fantastic new feature in our LMS: Student Attendance Tracking. This feature is designed to help faculty and staff save time, increase accuracy, and allow students to record their attendance independently.

How Does It Work?

It’s very easy! Here are the steps to use this feature:

  • Create an “Attendance” activity in the LMS for your class. Each class number should have one Attendance activity.

  • Set up the sessions you want to track. We recommend setting up all 16 sessions for the entire semester at once.

  • Mark student attendance manually, or let students use their devices to scan a QR code displayed through the Attendance activity.

Benefits of This Feature

  • Time-saving
    Instructors no longer need to manually record attendance in OPCS, saving valuable time that can be used for teaching and interacting with students.

  • Increased Accuracy
    Human errors in attendance recording are minimized with this digital system.

  • Reporting Feature
    The LMS automatically generates attendance reports that can be accessed by faculty and administrative staff. Attendance record can be exported to OPCS easily to fill in the attendance page in OPCS.

  • Customization
    Instructors can adjust tardiness parameters on their attendance lists according to the agreements made at the beginning of the course.
